CBP - Field Service Representative
BASIC FUNCTION SUMMARY
- Evaluates avionics and/or airframe installations for compliance with FAR Part 91,125 and145. They work with avionics and airframe manufacturers to integrate equipment into diverse aircrafts, including helicopters, covert surveillance aircraft. Evaluations will include Stress Analysts, Mechanical Design Engineers, and Avionics Integration Engineering, Perform Installation, Checkout and Test on new and existing software baselines. - Reports to the Maintenance Manager or Site Manager. - Must be customer oriented.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Responsible for installing software, conducting integration and checkout activities and assisting in informal and formal Government System Level Testing activities. - Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues and reporting defects to the factory. - Daily customer interface and attendance at meetings as required - Provide continuous on-site support and informal training to test conductors, test participants, local system administrators and operational users. - Troubleshoot all avionics systems, conducting fault isolation and repair of faulty components. - Build up and replace faulty wire harness/bundles as needed. - Test avionics systems periodically as required for preventative maintenance. - Install/modify Government furnished Classified Communications Equipment according to applicable Technical Directives, industry standards and FAA regulations. - Produce new and modify existing wiring diagrams according to applicable technical data/documents and FAA regulations. - Assessment of Aircraft Structural and Avionics/Electrical System Design problem areas and provides action plans - Creates and manages training & development plans for team members - Responsible for technical quality of all deliverables produced by assigned team - Provides technical direction to the team; working manager and has hands on responsibilities. - Assists in the development of project scope and technical content for projects, including preparation of job estimates, bid responses and proposals - Works with CBP to determine requirements - Performs design tasks as required, including wire routing, wire harness design and installation - Reviews and monitors all projects - May be required to exercise independent judgement and travel or relocate to other geographical locations including foreign countries. - May be required to have a security clearance and passport in the performance of duties. - Must be a US citizen and completed high school or equivalent. - Must read, write, speak, and understand English QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
- Degree in Engineering and 2-10 years of design experience in the aerospace field. (Desired) - Experience designing dynamic components such as drive shafts, transmissions, rotors, hubs, forgings, etc. for rotary or fixed wing aircraft. - Avionics/Aerospace background required. - An FCC General license is preferred, with an A&P (Inspection Authority) required. Thorough working knowledge of both military and general aviation structural or electrical, electronic systems and components with experience in installation of intercommunications, ADF, LF, VHF, HF, and UHF communications, navigations systems, instrument landing systems, auto pilots and associated aircraft lighting systems. - The mental and visual ability to read, understand and interpret detailed technical publications and instructions. - Must have the ability to deal courteously, professionally, and effectively with the customer. - Must be able to obtain a passport, visa and Government security clearance and travel to support field operations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Physical Demands: This classification activity is usually accomplished in a office/hangar/flight line environment and as such requires the scope of physical movements and postures normally associated with office/hangar/flight line activities. May be required to lift objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 pounds. Special vision abilities required to perform this job are close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
Work Environment: The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject individual to severe changes of temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
